The photo right shows how the grit on

the second side will obscure the num-

bers so marking the grit number on the

face will be a handy reference.

The photo below shows the MicroMesh

6000 rolling onto the back side of the

leather strop plate. You can either start

from the center and roll it out both direc-

tions, or start at one side with the center

hole aligned and roll all in the same di-

rection.

The bottom photo shows the four glass

plate set up I use: the two plates that

come with the Work Sharp plus one ex-

tra glass plate plus the leather strop

plate. With this set up the grit steps are

P80, P120, P220, P400, P1000, Mi-

croMesh 3600, MicroMesh 6000 and the

leather strop with bufﬁng compound (in-

cluded with the strop plate).

Now we are ready to tackle that ugly old

chisel.
